The Citizen Science Cluster event will bring together researchers, policymakers, and innovators to celebrate citizen science and the power of public engagement. Co-organised by REA and the EU-funded projects IMPETUS and ECS, the event will take place in Brussels, with online access to the morning plenary session and the EU Citizen Science Prize announcement in the afternoon.

The event offers a platform to showcase innovative citizen science initiatives and public engagement strategies that bring science closer to citizens—an essential goal of the European Research Area. Participants will explore how citizen engagement can shape evidence-based policymaking, share best practices, and inspire future directions in policy and research.

Highlights include the presentation of EU-funded projects and the announcement of the 2025 EU Citizen Science Prize winners, recognising exceptional contributions to tackling societal challenges through citizen involvement.
